The domestic help industry in Indonesia faces significant challenges with trust, verification, and matching quality. Families struggle to find reliable housemaids, while housemaids face difficulties finding fair employment opportunities.
The Solution
Biru creates a trusted platform that connects verified housemaids with families through trust-building UI patterns including verified profiles, transparent reviews, and visual clarity tailored to household decision-makers.
The Process
Collaborated with industry mentors and conducted user research with 100+ participants, applying survey design, affinity mapping, and persona development to validate product-market fit. Designed high-fidelity mobile prototypes in Figma, prioritizing trust-building UI patterns.
The Outcome
Secured $3,500 in funding and advanced to the Stella Zhang Venture semifinals after pitching to investors and judges on scalability, impact, and user-centric design. Earned 3rd place in the Beall-Butterworth competition for innovative solutions.
